The Interaction Of Space Variations Office

The Interaction of Space Variations Office is an innovative interior design project that exemplifies the harmonious blend of functionality and aesthetic sophistication in contemporary workspace design. Located in Taichung City and completed in June 2011, this 45-square-meter office space, designed by Chin-Chun Wu, represents a masterful transformation of a traditional building into a modern professional environment. The design philosophy draws significant inspiration from De Stijl movement, particularly Mondrian's work, incorporating abstract elements that create a deliberate balance between rationality and sensibility. The space features distinct zones including a welcoming reception area with comfortable beige couches, complemented by an evocative oil painting that establishes an atmosphere conducive to creative dialogue. The design's sophisticated transition spaces include a porch area featuring wooden grille and bamboo ceiling curtains, creating dynamic visual effects through the interplay of flat and vertical lines. The meeting area showcases professional characteristics through thoughtfully designed log tables, chairs, and colorful wall shelves that ingeniously resolve architectural challenges presented by the building's original staircase. The use of thick sandblasted sycamore woods for the porch and TV wall creates seamless spatial connections, while the implementation of rattan lamps adds warmth and casualness to the perceptual areas. This exemplary project, which earned the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category in 2017, demonstrates exceptional space utilization and material selection that enhances both professional functionality and emotional comfort.
