The Hulking Mist Residential
The Hulking Mist Residential is an award-winning interior design project that exemplifies sophisticated spatial transformation and harmonious integration with natural elements. Located in Xindian District, New Taipei City, this 35-ping residential space showcases an innovative approach to modern living through its thoughtful reorganization of space and masterful material selection. The design, completed in November 2020, transformed the original four-bedroom layout into a more efficient three-bedroom configuration with a dedicated study area, demonstrating exceptional space optimization. The interior's distinctive character emerges from its carefully curated material palette, featuring vintage-like metal panels, blue artistic tiles, and wooden elements that create a serene, vacation-like atmosphere. The kitchen area serves as a central focal point with its unique spinout shape, fostering family gatherings while maintaining spatial fluidity. The design's sophisticated use of grey, white, earth tones, and grey-blue colors, combined with strategic lighting solutions, creates a harmonious living environment. A notable feature is the dining area's background wall, adorned with bright blue tiles that evoke oceanic imagery, while the semi-open-end spatial arrangement enables seamless connection between living spaces. The project, which earned recognition with an Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, successfully addresses the challenges of a narrow, long space through innovative solutions such as transparent window sceneries and sliding glass doors. The integration of natural daylight, mountain views, and thoughtfully placed greenery establishes a permanent vacation ambiance while maintaining practical functionality for modern family living.
