The Hidden Garden Interior Design
The Hidden Garden Interior Design is an award-winning interior architectural project that masterfully integrates naturalistic elements with contemporary spatial design, completed in 2017 in Kaohsiung City, Taiwan. This 778-square-meter space draws profound inspiration from the classical Chinese literary work The Peach Colony by Tao Yuan Ming, translating its ethereal narrative into a tangible architectural experience. The design, conceived by Che-Yung Chuang, employs a sophisticated interplay of dark and gray tiles in the counter area, creating geometric gradations that establish a serene and refined atmosphere. A distinctive feature of the space is the prominent rectangular light box suspended above the counter desk, complemented by carefully crafted tree and leaf outlines that enhance the visual narrative. The project's innovative approach to spatial design is evident in its audiovisual space, where geometric wall divisions and forest-shaped carved elements interact harmoniously with strategic lighting. The dining area showcases a grand chandelier with smoky glass elements that evoke a celestial atmosphere, while the cooking classroom space demonstrates practical sophistication through its integration of black steel elements and professional kitchen equipment. The design's connection to nature is further reinforced through wall treatments inspired by Peng Hu Basalt, creating an immersive experience reminiscent of mountain pathways. This exceptional project, recognized with a Silver A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, exemplifies the successful fusion of traditional Eastern philosophy with contemporary design principles, establishing a space that balances aesthetic refinement with functional excellence.
