The Gatherings Residence
The Gatherings Residence is an exemplary residential interior design project that masterfully integrates modern aesthetics with traditional Chinese Feng Shui principles, completed in 2020 in Hsinchu city, Taiwan. This sophisticated 264-square-meter living space, designed by Stanley Chou and Daphne Lu, accommodates three generations of a family while maintaining individual privacy and collective harmony. The residence showcases an innovative approach to spatial organization, featuring an entrance, living room, dining room, kitchen, balcony, eight bedrooms, and four bathrooms within its 198-square-meter interior design area. The project's distinctive characteristics include the implementation of high-end materials such as Italian imported thin slabs, marble, titanium-plated metal, and steel-patterned veneer, creating an atmosphere of refined luxury while maintaining warmth and comfort. A notable feature is the semi-permeable TV wall in the living room, crafted from exquisite marble that complements the imported Italian metal sheet and wooden metal elements. The design incorporates advanced technological solutions, including smart devices throughout the common areas to enhance functionality and energy efficiency. The project successfully overcame significant challenges, including addressing pre-existing water leakage issues through advanced engineering processes and carefully balancing the requirements of traditional Feng Shui with modern design aesthetics. The integration of natural elements, evidenced by the pine trees on the balcony and the thoughtful incorporation of outdoor scenery, creates a harmonious dialogue between interior and exterior spaces. This exceptional design achievement was recognized with an Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category in 2021, acknowledging its innovative approach to residential design and its successful fusion of cultural elements with contemporary living requirements.
