The Clock Tower Restaurant is a distinguished hospitality design project that reimagines a colonial British school aesthetic within a contemporary dining establishment, exemplifying the harmonious fusion of architectural heritage and modern gastronomy. Located in Gurgaon, India, this innovative restaurant and brewery concept transforms a previously dilapidated structure into an atmospheric dining destination that evokes nostalgia through its carefully crafted Victorian-style architecture and interior design elements. The establishment's defining feature is its impressive facade adorned with Indian quartz stone cladding and pure cement moldings, complemented by a prominent clock feature that serves as both a visual anchor and a symbolic testament to the passage of time. The interior space underwent significant structural modifications, including the creation of a dramatic double-height ground floor area, achieved by removing portions of the first floor, while retaining essential service areas for the kitchen and microbrewery operations. The design scheme incorporates traditional materials such as red and black oxide cement flooring, checkered marble patterns, and wooden elements, all unified by neat cement punning wall finishes that maintain the period aesthetic. The spatial arrangement includes thoughtfully designed areas across multiple levels, featuring two balcony spaces on the second floor for outdoor seating, and carefully planned terrace areas that provide both communal and private dining experiences. This Silver A' Design Award-winning project in the Hospitality, Recreation, Travel and Tourism Design category demonstrates exceptional attention to detail in scaling down grand colonial architectural proportions while maintaining their imposing character, successfully creating an environment that encourages social connection and the rekindling of friendships through shared dining experiences.
