The Angle Residential Space
The Angle Residential Space is an innovative interior design project completed in Taiwan that exemplifies the harmonious integration of geometric aesthetics and functional workspace design. This Bronze A' Design Award-winning creation, designed by Ming Jr Li, transforms a video game service center into a sophisticated professional environment through the thoughtful application of simple geometric lines and composite materials. The space is distinguished by its striking hexagonal pendant lights, which appear to float effortlessly through the use of invisible hanging wires, creating an ethereal atmosphere reminiscent of floating clouds. The design features a luminous imitation marble countertop crafted with formability paint that complements the black steel elements, while beveled edge wood collage flooring enhances spatial perception. The interior employs an open-concept layout, eschewing traditional cubicles in favor of modern slimline and tree-shaped desks arranged in an island-hopping configuration that promotes collaboration while maintaining individual privacy through strategically placed low screens. The design's sophisticated material palette includes wood panels with contrasting textures, with one wall showcasing natural wood grain and the other finished in pristine white, creating a balanced visual dialogue. The high ceiling design, combined with a carefully curated color scheme of dusk yellow and warm gray tones interwoven with wood elements, establishes a welcoming atmosphere. Large glass curtain walls not only draw in natural light but also frame views of Mount Dadu and Taichung city, allowing occupants to experience the dynamic interplay of light and shadow throughout the day. This thoughtfully executed design, completed between May 2017 and March 2018, demonstrates exceptional consideration for employee wellbeing and operational efficiency while maintaining aesthetic excellence.
