Terraza Residence

Terraza Residence

Terraza Residence is an award-winning residential interior design project that exemplifies the harmonious fusion of Hampton's style with modern elements, creating a sophisticated coastal living environment. Located in Hong Kong's Tai Kok Tsui district, this 950-square-foot apartment masterfully utilizes its 4.3-meter ceiling height through innovative spatial planning and architectural elements. The design, conceived by Zeta Chu, introduces multi-level platforms and mezzanine spaces that effectively extend the living area while maintaining visual continuity throughout the space. A distinctive wooden curve, which gracefully flows along the ceiling from the foyer through the living and dining areas, serves both aesthetic and functional purposes, concealing structural elements while creating a unified spatial narrative. The interior architecture emphasizes sustainability through the use of eco-friendly materials, including E0 wood panels with low formaldehyde emissions, and incorporates smart living technologies for enhanced functionality. The design philosophy prioritizes family interaction through thoughtfully planned communal spaces while maintaining private areas for individual family members. The color palette draws inspiration from oceanic tones, complemented by natural materials such as timber, stone, and linen, creating a serene atmosphere that reflects the property's unique position between urban and coastal environments. The project, completed in 2017, received recognition at the A' Design Award competition, earning an Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space and Exhibition Design category for its innovative approach to residential design. The interior's sophisticated spatial organization features segmented steps instead of traditional staircases, creating a more dynamic flow between different levels while promoting family interaction through carefully planned communal areas.
