Ten Posters is an innovative visual communication design project that exemplifies the intersection of fashion and graphic design through a sophisticated minimalist approach. Created by designers Kalyani Kamat Bambolkar and Ling Lee, this series of posters represents a conceptual celebration of a fashion institution's tenth anniversary through the symbolic use of 'X' marks photographed on the human body. The design concept deliberately eschews conventional fashion imagery, instead utilizing the imprints left by clothing, ribbons, and rope on models' skin to create visually striking 'X' patterns that serve both as a numerical reference to the anniversary and as an abstract representation of fashion's physical impact on the human form. The project encompasses large-format posters measuring 841 x 1189mm, complemented by supporting materials including brochures (297 x 420mm) and electronic invitations, all maintaining a cohesive visual narrative. The innovative approach to fashion event promotion earned recognition with a Silver A' Design Award in the Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design category, acknowledging its contribution to advancing the boundaries of visual communication in fashion contexts. The project's execution required precise timing during photography sessions to capture the temporary impressions on the skin, resulting in a collection of images that successfully create intrigue while avoiding direct representation of fashion pieces. This strategic visual approach not only fulfilled the brief's requirements but also established a unique identity for the event through its conceptual depth and technical execution.
