Taured Decorative Clock
Taured Decorative clock is an innovative timepiece that masterfully combines functional timekeeping with artistic expression, drawing inspiration from the mysterious 1954 temporal paradox story of a traveler who claimed to be from the non-existent country of Taured. Created by designer CHIU WEI-CHIH, this sophisticated decorative clock explores the complex dimensions of time and parallel spaces through its thoughtful design and premium materials. The piece features a 3mm steel plate clock face, precision-cut using CNC laser technology and enhanced with titanium plating to achieve a mirror-like finish. The design incorporates intricate 3D-printed miniature figures, including two human forms and a dog, which are finished with brass plating to create an engaging narrative about temporal coexistence. Set upon a meticulously crafted marble base, the clock measures 300x100x305mm and represents a harmonious blend of contemporary manufacturing techniques and traditional craftsmanship. The mirror-like surface of the clock face serves both practical and conceptual purposes, creating fascinating reflections that vary with the viewer's perspective and symbolizing the multifaceted nature of time itself. This thought-provoking piece, which was developed between August 2016 and January 2017 in Taipei, Taiwan, earned recognition as a Bronze A' Design Award winner in the Furniture Design category, acknowledging its exceptional fusion of conceptual depth and aesthetic refinement. The clock's design encourages viewers to contemplate the nature of time and space while serving as a sophisticated decorative element that enhances its surrounding environment through its high-end materials and precise execution.
