TAP Airport Lounge
TAP Airport Lounge is an innovative interior architectural design project that exemplifies sophisticated airport terminal design, featuring a rectangular plan with strong longitudinal expression and comprehensive acoustic optimization. The 990-square-meter space, recognized with a Silver A' Design Award in Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, showcases a masterful integration of natural materials and contemporary design solutions. The lounge's most striking feature is its expansive glass facade, which provides panoramic views of the airport runway while incorporating ingenious acoustic solutions through concave wall shapes and strategic use of sound-absorbing materials such as cork and fabric. Designed by Miguel Arruda and his team, the space demonstrates exceptional attention to functional zoning, with a centrally positioned reception area that facilitates intuitive navigation throughout different segments including rest areas, workspaces, informal lounging zones, and dining facilities.
