Taiping New City Poetic Emerald Corridor Landscape Planning Design

Taiping New City Poetic Emerald Corridor Landscape Planning Design is an innovative urban landscape project spanning 156.42 hectares across a 5.5-kilometer linear corridor in Anning, Kunming, Yunnan, China, that exemplifies the harmonious integration of natural ecosystems with urban development. This comprehensive landscape planning initiative, which earned a Bronze A' Design Award in the Landscape Planning and Garden Design category, features a sophisticated system of constructed wetlands, lakes, and ecological grass streams that preserve and enhance the local topography while creating a continuous green pathway connecting east to west. The design draws inspiration from the concept of an Emerald Necklace, utilizing four existing water ponds as focal points to create distinct themed zones dedicated to scientific innovation, light and shadow effects, artistic expression, and healthy living. The project's distinctive approach to landscape architecture incorporates rolling hills and meandering valley landscapes, emphasizing natural water accumulation, infiltration, and purification processes. The design demonstrates exceptional attention to functional layout, traffic flow management, and the integration of existing terrain and water systems, while prioritizing safety and resilience in its park design. This urban green corridor serves as a symbol of modern city planning that promotes environmental sustainability, cultural preservation, and public recreation, offering surrounding communities a park-like lifestyle that seamlessly blends natural elements with urban convenience. The project, initiated in August 2020, showcases innovative solutions for water resource management, environmental protection, and public space design, creating a multifunctional landscape that serves both ecological and social purposes.
