Tab Commercial Hospitality
Tab Commercial Hospitality is an innovative architectural project that exemplifies the harmonious fusion of modern design principles with traditional cultural elements, situated in a rapidly developing industrial city in Eastern India. This distinguished architectural endeavor, completed in 2018, represents a significant achievement in commercial hospitality design through its thoughtful integration of diverse functional spaces including a five-star hotel, office premises, retail outlets, and public parking facilities. The design philosophy draws profound inspiration from the regional cultural heritage, particularly the temples of Bishnupur and Shantiniketan, transforming traditional architectural elements into contemporary expressions through a sophisticated 'boxing' concept that encapsulates local art and culture. The structure employs advanced building technologies, including a conventional RCC frame structure with raft foundation, complemented by modern materials such as fiber cement board, Corten steel, and high-performance glass, demonstrating exceptional technical prowess in addressing complex structural challenges. The project's commitment to sustainability is evidenced by its achievement of the IGBC Platinum Rating in the core and shell category, incorporating numerous green building strategies. Notable design features include the innovative use of terracotta on the facade and the integration of Gitanjali verses on the eastern face, creating a meaningful dialogue between architectural modernism and cultural heritage. The project, recognized with an Iron A' Design Award in the Architecture, Building and Structure Design category, successfully overcomes significant technical challenges including the accommodation of underground power transmission lines and complex spatial constraints while maintaining aesthetic excellence and functional efficiency.
