This 1,300-square-foot establishment represents a sophisticated fusion of British elegance and traditional Chinese design elements, creating a unique dining environment that serves as both a functional cafe and a cultural time capsule. The space is anchored by a spectacular vintage clock, serving as a metaphorical gateway to Hong Kong's evocative past, while iconic green mosaic floor tiles, distinctive window frame patterns, and traditional table numbering systems pay homage to the classic cafes of the 1950s. The interior architecture thoughtfully incorporates western cabinetry with subtle Chinese design elements, particularly evident in the entrance area where signature baked goods are displayed beneath vibrant neon signage. The design employs an authentic material palette including period-specific floor mosaics, ceramic tiles, back-painted surfaces, stainless steel, and carefully selected veneers to create an atmosphere of 'modernized nostalgia.' Designed by J. Candice Interior Architects and recognized with a Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, the project demonstrates exceptional spatial planning and cultural sensitivity.
