Swirl Welcoming Space
Swirl Welcoming space is an innovative interior design project that reimagines the corporate reception area through the lens of contemporary museum aesthetics, created by designers Lorène Faure and Kenny Kinugasa-Tsui. This sophisticated architectural intervention, which earned the Silver A' Design Award in Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, transforms an industrial building in Hong Kong into a culturally enriched welcoming environment. Drawing inspiration from prestigious contemporary art institutions such as Tate Modern and Centre Pompidou, the space masterfully balances industrial heritage with refined artistic sensibilities. The design's centerpiece is a striking 9-meter-long full-height video wall that displays dynamic abstract animations, creating an immersive, museum-like experience that can be adapted for various events and purposes. The space features oversized European ceramic floor tiles that provide an earthy, textured foundation, complemented by gallery-style lighting and backlit translucent glass walls that enhance spatial legibility. The project's innovative approach to corporate hospitality deliberately moves away from conventional formal business environments, instead creating an emotional connection through artistic elements and carefully curated design furniture. The flexible layout includes a versatile boardroom that can be reconfigured for different functions, demonstrating a thoughtful balance between functionality and aesthetic appeal.
