Sweet Life Coffee Bar is an innovative interior design project that exemplifies the harmonious integration of natural materials and thoughtful spatial planning within a contemporary retail environment. Located in Switzerland's second-largest shopping center, this 130-square-meter establishment represents a sophisticated approach to commercial interior design, serving as an oasis of tranquility amidst the bustling retail atmosphere. Designed by Swiss interior architect Florian Studer, the space is masterfully divided into a 25-square-meter work area and a 95-square-meter guest lounge, with an additional 50-square-meter coffee service area in the mall's public space. The design philosophy emphasizes the use of organic, sustainable materials that reflect the establishment's commitment to fair trade and organic products, incorporating breathing clay plaster, Carrara marble, and oak elements throughout. The interior's material palette creates a deliberate contrast between warm and cold elements, cozy and spacious areas, and soft and rigid textures, all while adhering to strict safety and fire protection regulations. Notable design features include textured mud plaster walls, oak parquet flooring laid in a fishbone pattern, and suspended oak ceilings accented with marble and brass details. The space successfully creates distinct zones for customer relaxation and professional food service operations while maintaining visual cohesion through repeated wall combinations and thoughtful material transitions. This exemplary project, completed within a challenging three-month timeframe, was recognized with a Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, acknowledging its excellence in spatial design, material selection, and innovative approach to commercial interior architecture.
