Sustainable Natural Resource Management
Sustainable Natural Resource Management (SNRM) is a holistic approach to the design and management of resources that both meets the needs of present generations and safeguards the health of ecosystems for future generations. In order to achieve this, design and management strategies must take into account both the physical and social components of resource systems. For example, when designing and managing a freshwater system, designers must consider the chemical and biological components of the water, as well as the social and economic factors that influence the use of the resource. SNRM also emphasizes the importance of collaboration between stakeholders, including government, industry, and local communities, to ensure effective stewardship of natural resources. This includes the establishment of policies and best practices to ensure the responsible use of resources and the equitable distribution of benefits. For designers, SNRM provides an opportunity to shape the future of the environment and society through their design decisions.

Sustainable Natural Resource Management
Sustainable Natural Resource Management (SNRM) is a practice of utilizing natural resources in a way that maintains the ecological balance of the environment and prevents depletion of these resources. It involves the study, conservation, and management of natural resources to ensure that the need of present generations are met without compromising the availability of these resources for future generations. SNRM centers around the sustainable production and consumption of resources such as forests, water, and energy, as well as agricultural products, minerals, and fish stocks. Examples of SNRM activities include restoring ecosystems and improving the efficiency of resource use.
