Sunny Apartment Residential Interior

Sunny Apartment Residential Interior

Sunny Apartment Residential interior is an innovative architectural renovation project located in Taichung, Taiwan, that exemplifies contemporary residential design through its thoughtful transformation of a typical Taiwanese housing unit. Designed by architects Che Wang and Colette Kuo in collaboration with a skilled team of professionals, this 200-square-meter interior space represents a significant advancement in residential architecture through its innovative approach to light, air circulation, and acoustic design. The project, completed in 2018, addresses common challenges found in traditional Taiwanese housing units by implementing a revolutionary pentagon-based spatial organization that enhances natural light penetration and airflow throughout the living spaces. The design's most distinctive feature is its sophisticated integration of dome-form ceilings within each pentagonal space, creating distinct sound fields that naturally define different functional areas while maintaining spatial continuity. This architectural intervention successfully overcomes the original layout's limitations, where public spaces were previously constrained by poor ventilation and limited natural light exposure. The project demonstrates exceptional expertise in sustainable building engineering, incorporating advanced simulation techniques to optimize environmental performance. The design's success in harmoniously balancing aesthetic and functional considerations earned it the prestigious Golden A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, recognizing its outstanding contribution to residential interior architecture. The project's innovative approach to spatial planning, environmental consciousness, and acoustic design establishes new standards for contemporary urban living spaces, particularly in the context of Asian residential architecture.
