Sunlight Interior Design

Sunlight Interior Design

Sunlight Interior Design is an award-winning Japanese-style café interior project completed in 2016 in Taipei City, Taiwan, exemplifying a harmonious blend of traditional Japanese aesthetics with modern architectural elements. The 100-square-meter space, designed by Chien-Ling Liu, represents a sophisticated transformation of a decade-old residential structure into a contemporary café environment, featuring distinctive elements such as traditional tatami flooring and sliding doors that establish an authentic Japanese ambiance while incorporating contemporary design sensibilities. The project's distinguishing characteristics include its strategic use of aluminum windows and plain structural elements that create a seamless visual connection between interior and exterior spaces, particularly emphasizing its advantageous location adjacent to a park. The design's innovative approach to space optimization is evident in its expanded balcony design and the installation of large windows, which facilitate intensive visual interactions between indoor and outdoor environments while maximizing natural illumination. The interior scheme demonstrates exceptional attention to detail through its careful integration of Japanese-style artwork and paintings, creating a culturally rich atmosphere that serves as a tranquil refuge from urban stress. This thoughtfully executed design earned recognition with a Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, acknowledging its excellence in spatial planning, cultural integration, and innovative approach to commercial interior design. The project's success lies in its ability to create a people-oriented space that not only serves its commercial purpose but also contributes to the psychological well-being of its users through its thoughtful design elements and peaceful atmosphere.
