Summit Condo New Commercial Building is an innovative architectural project completed in Hangzhou, China, representing a sophisticated approach to modern commercial space design. This three-storey structure, encompassing 2,224 square meters, demonstrates a revolutionary departure from traditional architectural proportions through its distinctive design elements and spatial organization. The building's most notable feature is its semi-enclosed space concept, which creates a seamless flow between exterior and interior environments through thoughtfully designed transitional areas including a revolving staircase, patio, and a dramatic large-empty area. The design, conceived by WenPeng Dong, challenges conventional architectural norms by incorporating a sophisticated interplay of materials, featuring a glass box formation complemented by staggered wooden structures and metal tubing. The facade employs 12-meter ultra-high glass panels and wooden frames, creating a striking visual impact while subverting the traditional 1:1 ratio model typically seen in commercial architecture. The project, completed between July 2017 and July 2018, exemplifies excellence in contemporary architectural design, earning recognition with a Bronze A' Design Award in the Architecture, Building and Structure Design category.
