Strech.me Club Table
Strech.me Club table is an innovative and multifunctional piece of furniture designed by Ivana Cvetkovic Lakos that exemplifies adaptable living solutions for modern urban spaces. This transformable club table, which earned recognition with an Iron A' Design Award in the Furniture Design category, features a sophisticated extending mechanism that allows it to expand from 80 to 150 centimeters without the use of metal parts or additional mechanisms. The design incorporates two removable elements that serve multiple functions, seamlessly transitioning from table extensions to independent furniture pieces such as benches, side tables, vase stands, or bedside tables. Constructed from MDF boards laminated in contrasting colors, HPL (High Pressure Laminate), and solid wood including oak and ash, the table demonstrates a careful balance between structural integrity and lightweight functionality. The base configuration measures 800mm in width, 600mm in depth, and 350mm in height, while the extendable elements measure 460mm in width, 280mm in depth, and 400mm in height. The design's inspiration stems from traditional footstools, reinterpreted through a contemporary lens with vibrant colors and versatile functionality. This space-saving solution particularly addresses the challenges of modern urban living, where furniture must adapt to varying spatial requirements and user needs. The table's innovative design approach, which eliminates the need for complex mechanical components while maintaining structural stability, represents a significant advancement in transformable furniture design, earning it recognition in the A' Design Award competition for its practical innovation and creative execution.
