Story of Siam Exhibition is an award-winning interior design project that masterfully integrates Southeast Asian aesthetics with contemporary design sensibilities, created by designers Wang Chao and Yue Xiaorui in Boao, China. Completed in January 2016, this 2030-square-meter exhibition space draws inspiration from the cultural richness of Siam (ancient Thailand) and translates it into a modern architectural narrative. The design philosophy centers on achieving a delicate balance between relaxation and sophistication, utilizing a thoughtful combination of materials including flannelette, cotton, linen, and decorative ironwork. The exhibition's spatial composition is characterized by its innovative use of white space and varying levels created through black iron elements, creating a dynamic visual hierarchy that guides visitors through the space. The designers successfully incorporated traditional Southeast Asian design elements while maintaining a lightweight, contemporary feel, particularly through the strategic use of light peacock blue accents.
