Steven Pippin
Steven Pippin is a British artist best known for his sculptural pieces, many of which explore the potential of science and technology in imaginative ways. A key figure in the 'New British Sculpture' movement of the 1980s, Pippin has often used photographic processes to create sculptural works. His series, Laundromat, for example, provided a commentary on the impact of globalization and technology with iconic images of washing machines in which Pippin attempts to trace the history of both photography and technology. Pippin is also widely recognized for his 'Conundrum' project, in which he created a car engine out of everyday objects to explore the boundaries between art and technology.
