STARLIT LEARNING CENTRE Learning Centre is an innovative educational facility designed specifically for children aged 2-6, incorporating principles from Ancient Roman city planning to create a nurturing and stress-free learning environment. The centre, which earned a Silver A' Design Award in Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design, represents a revolutionary approach to early childhood education in Hong Kong, where academic pressure on young students is notably high. The design's focal point cleverly transforms a challenging 1-meter diameter central column into a performance stage reminiscent of the Colosseum, surrounded by a multi-functional auditorium that serves as a playground, parent-child interaction space, and waiting area. The facility's layout features two distinctive wings connected by radiating arms, with circular elements prominently integrated throughout the design to provide children with a sense of security and familiarity. Natural elements are thoughtfully incorporated through the use of tree trunk imagery, wood textures, and nature-inspired wallpapers, while the interior design balances urban aesthetics with pastoral elements, drawing inspiration from both cityscape environments and dreaming landscapes. The space employs carefully selected color palettes that create a cheerful yet non-overstimulating atmosphere, utilizing analogous and complementary color schemes to enhance the learning experience. Notable features include the Big Kaleidoscope made with dimensional mirrors creating infinite reflections, and a secret Zig-zag pathway that encourages exploration and adventure, all while maintaining a professional educational environment that prioritizes both performance training and relaxed learning.
