Splash Pendant is an innovative jewelry design that exemplifies the fusion of natural phenomena with contemporary aesthetics, created by designers Nazanin Akbarian and Fatemeh Safikhani. This sophisticated piece captures the ephemeral moment of a stone's collision with water in a freeze-frame aesthetic, translated into a permanent precious metal form. The pendant's distinctive design features fluid spiral forms that authentically represent water splashes, with a black pearl serving as a metaphor for the stone, creating a harmonious interplay between solid and liquid elements. Crafted from 18K white gold and measuring 30mm x 32mm, the pendant weighs 8 grams and demonstrates exceptional attention to detail in its execution. The design's underlying philosophy draws from Platonic forms and human perception, while its spiral structure incorporates the golden ratio, resulting in a visually pleasing and emotionally resonant piece. Developed in Tehran during 2015, the pendant required sophisticated Computer-Aided Design (CAD) technology, utilizing software such as Tspline and Rhino/Vray to achieve its complex, fluid forms. The piece represents a significant achievement in jewelry design, earning recognition with a Golden A' Design Award in the Jewelry Design category, acknowledging its innovative approach to transforming a dynamic natural occurrence into wearable art. The pendant's design successfully overcomes the technical challenge of capturing liquid movement in solid form, creating a casual yet sophisticated piece suitable for everyday wear while maintaining its artistic integrity and conceptual depth.
