Sperso Speaker

Sperso Speaker

Sperso Speaker is an innovative ceiling-mounted wireless audio device that uniquely combines aesthetic design with acoustic functionality, drawing inspiration from biological forms to create a distinctive visual and auditory experience. The design, created by industrial designer Nima Bavardi, features a striking glass bubble structure with an integrated aluminum speaker unit, embodying a conceptual fusion of organic form and technological function. The speaker's name derives from the combination of Sperm and Sound, reflecting its distinctive morphology and its purpose of sound dispersion. Standing 28 centimeters in height with a maximum radius of 12 centimeters, the device is crafted using traditional glass-blowing techniques to achieve its signature concave bubble shape, while incorporating modern wireless charging capabilities and Bluetooth connectivity for seamless integration with various digital devices. The speaker's ergonomically considered placement angle optimizes sound distribution while protecting listeners' hearing, and its interface includes four silicone buttons for power and volume control. This innovative design, which earned the Silver A' Design Award in the Digital and Electronic Device Design category, represents a harmonious blend of form and function, particularly suited for residential spaces such as living rooms, bedrooms, and entertainment areas. The project, developed between September 2016 and January 2017, demonstrates a thoughtful approach to contemporary audio device design, emphasizing both technical performance and aesthetic appeal while incorporating sustainable materials and manufacturing processes.
