Sorec Horse Park Grandstand

Sorec Horse Park Grandstand

Sorec Horse Park Grandstand is an innovative architectural masterpiece located in Rabat, Morocco, that seamlessly integrates equestrian facilities with public recreational spaces. The design, which earned the prestigious Golden A' Design Award in Landscape Planning and Garden Design category, exemplifies a harmonious blend of form and function through its distinctive twisted structure inspired by equine movement patterns. The 63,750-square-meter facility demonstrates exceptional spatial organization, incorporating sophisticated circulation systems that effectively separate VIP areas, public spaces, and jockey facilities while maintaining visual connectivity throughout the complex. The grandstand's innovative design employs a repetitive trust system that enables its twisted form while maintaining cost-effectiveness through standardized components. Environmental consciousness is evident in its locally-sourced materials, which minimize carbon footprint and integrate seamlessly with Rabat's architectural context. The structure features a sophisticated self-shading canopy system with a 5% perforation rate, optimizing natural light penetration while minimizing heat gain. The design prioritizes sustainability through smart lighting sensors, natural ventilation systems that harness ocean breezes, and thoughtful integration of green spaces. The facility's layout maximizes central green areas while providing strategic viewing points that ensure visibility of equestrian activities from various vantage points, creating an inclusive environment that celebrates Morocco's rich equestrian heritage while serving as a modern, family-friendly destination that bridges the gap between competitive sport and public recreation.
