Snow Drop Lighting is an innovative ceiling-mounted modular lighting fixture that exemplifies the harmonious fusion of geometric precision and functional elegance in contemporary lighting design. Created by Belgian designer Nicolas Brevers, this sophisticated luminaire features a distinctive tetrahedral form crafted from opalescent white plexiglass and golden brass rods, drawing inspiration from the delicate structure of the snowdrop flower and principles of sacred geometry. The design's most notable feature is its ingenious pulley system incorporating a white concrete spherical counterweight, enabling users to smoothly modulate light intensity through a transformative opening and closing mechanism. When closed, the vintage amber Edison bulb resides within the tetrahedral enclosure, creating a filtered, ambient illumination; when opened, the fixture blooms into three fractal triangles, revealing its full geometric complexity and casting intricate shadow patterns. The design, measuring 800mm in all dimensions, demonstrates exceptional attention to material selection and engineering, utilizing 3mm plexiglass triangles, brass tubes, nylon rope, and a fabric-wrapped electrical cable to achieve its sophisticated functionality.
