Smooth Sailing Residential
Smooth Sailing Residential is an award-winning interior design project completed in Hong Kong that masterfully transforms a 1,294-square-foot apartment into a luxurious living space inspired by nautical themes and super yacht aesthetics. Located on the building's top floor, this innovative residential design showcases a harmonious blend of functionality and sophisticated styling, particularly notable for its creative approach to space optimization and entertainment integration. The project, designed by Cameron Kam Hin Lun, features distinctive elements such as stained glass-style windows that cast leaf-patterned shadows across warm wooden flooring while offering panoramic views of Victoria Harbour. The interior's sophisticated design language incorporates curvaceous lines and plush colors, creating a sumptuous atmosphere that seamlessly integrates high-end entertainment capabilities with daily living requirements. The space underwent significant architectural reconfiguration, converting a four-room layout into an open-plan living and dining area complemented by a master suite with an en-suite bathroom and walk-in closet. Notable design features include a contemporary curved cream sofa centered on a rich purple rug, heavy blackout curtains for optimal cinema viewing, and a sophisticated sliding TV wall crafted from steel and leather that conceals state-of-the-art audiovisual equipment. The kitchen space was enhanced through partial wall removal, while the bathroom design incorporates curved lines that echo the oceanic theme. The project, completed in December 2018, earned a Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, recognizing its excellence in spatial design, material selection, and innovative integration of smart living systems that provide comprehensive control of electrical devices and entertainment components.
