SMALL BUBE Portable Tea Set

SMALL BUBE Portable Tea Set

SMALL BUBE Portable Tea Set is an innovative portable tea service design that exemplifies the harmonious fusion of traditional Chinese tea culture with modern lifestyle needs. Designed by Tiger Lee and team in Shenzhen between 2015 and 2017, this compact and versatile tea set addresses the challenges of contemporary fast-paced living while preserving the essence of traditional tea ceremonies. The design features a sophisticated combination of bone china teaware components housed within a protective cork enclosure, measuring 135mm in width, 135mm in depth, and 145mm in height. The set's distinctive features include colorful elastic elements that serve both decorative and functional purposes, preventing heat transfer while handling, and an aluminum cover that doubles as a serving plate for accompaniments. The thoughtfully engineered cork housing provides multiple benefits, including shock absorption, waterproofing, and mold resistance, while maintaining a lightweight profile suitable for transport. This innovative approach to portable tea service earned recognition with a Silver A' Design Award in the Packaging Design category, acknowledging its contribution to contemporary design solutions. The set's modular design allows for complete disassembly and reassembly, with the cork container offering additional functionality as a vase when not serving its primary protective purpose. The design successfully addresses the modern need for portable tea ceremonies while maintaining the refined aesthetic and functional requirements of traditional tea culture, demonstrating exceptional attention to both form and function in its execution.
