Skateboard Riser Pads

Skateboard Riser Pads

Skateboard riser pads are small pieces of rubber or plastic that are placed between the skateboard deck and the trucks. They are designed to elevate the skateboard deck, providing additional clearance between the wheels and the deck. This extra space can be particularly useful for skateboarders who ride larger wheels, as it prevents wheel bite, which occurs when the wheels come into contact with the deck during sharp turns or tricks. Riser pads come in various thicknesses, typically ranging from 1/8 inch to 1/2 inch. Thicker riser pads provide more clearance, but they also raise the center of gravity of the skateboard, which can affect its stability and maneuverability. Thinner riser pads, on the other hand, provide less clearance but maintain the skateboard's original center of gravity. Riser pads are not necessary for all skateboarders, but they can be particularly useful for those who ride larger wheels or prefer looser trucks. They can also help to reduce vibration and shock, which can make for a smoother ride. Overall, skateboard riser pads are a simple yet effective accessory that can improve the performance and comfort of a skateboard. By providing additional clearance and reducing vibration, they can help skateboarders to ride with more confidence and control.
