Skate Alu Outdoor Chair
Skate Alu Outdoor Chair is an innovative outdoor furniture design that seamlessly blends skateboarding aesthetics with contemporary outdoor living solutions. Created by Belgian designer Mathias De Ferm in 2019, this distinguished piece features a distinctive curved seat profile directly inspired by skateboard geometry, characterized by gracefully rounded and upturned sides that create an engaging visual signature while delivering exceptional comfort. The chair's sophisticated construction employs a powder-coated aluminum frame, ensuring both structural integrity and weather resistance, while the integration of polyolefin rope weaving adds both tactile interest and functional durability. Measuring 640 mm x 720 mm x 740 mm, the chair exemplifies thoughtful ergonomic consideration in its proportions. The design's environmental consciousness is evident in its material selection, with all components being lightweight, easily separable, and fully recyclable at the end of their lifecycle. This commitment to sustainability, combined with its innovative design approach, earned the Skate Alu Outdoor Chair the Silver A' Design Award in the Camping Gear and Outdoor Equipment Design category in 2022, recognizing its contribution to advancing outdoor furniture design. The chair's unique feature lies in its ability to create an immersive seating experience where users become unaware of the supporting frame, achieving a harmonious balance between functional necessity and aesthetic refinement. Its weather-resistant properties and durable construction make it particularly suitable for various outdoor environments, from residential gardens to commercial spaces.
