Shower Platforms

Shower Platforms

Shower platforms, also known as shower bases or shower pans, are the foundational component of a shower that provides a stable and waterproof surface for the shower floor. These platforms are typically made of durable materials such as acrylic, fiberglass, or porcelain, and are designed to withstand the constant exposure to water and cleaning products. Shower platforms are available in a variety of shapes and sizes to fit different bathroom layouts and shower designs. Some common shapes include rectangular, square, and neo-angle, while sizes can range from small, single-person showers to larger, multi-person showers. The platform is installed directly on the subfloor, and the shower walls are then attached to the platform to create a complete shower enclosure. One of the key features of shower platforms is their ability to prevent water from leaking into the subfloor or surrounding areas. This is achieved through the use of a waterproof membrane that is installed beneath the platform and extends up the walls of the shower enclosure. In addition, many shower platforms also include a built-in drain that allows water to flow out of the shower and into the plumbing system. Overall, shower platforms are an essential component of any shower system, providing a stable and waterproof surface that is both functional and aesthetically pleasing.
