Shower Pans
Shower pans, also known as shower bases or shower trays, are an essential component of any shower system. A shower pan is the waterproof base that sits beneath the shower floor tiles and is responsible for directing water to the drain. It is typically made of a durable material such as acrylic, fiberglass, or porcelain, and is designed to withstand the weight of the user and the constant exposure to water. Shower pans come in a variety of shapes and sizes to fit different shower configurations. Some common shapes include rectangular, square, and neo-angle (which has a triangular shape to fit into a corner). Shower pans can also be customized to fit specific dimensions or to accommodate features such as built-in benches or wheelchair accessibility. Proper installation of a shower pan is crucial to ensure a leak-free shower. The pan must be installed on a level surface and securely fastened to the subfloor. The drain must also be properly installed and connected to the plumbing system to prevent leaks. In addition to their functional purpose, shower pans can also add aesthetic value to a bathroom. Many manufacturers offer a variety of colors and textures to match different styles and preferences.
