Ship 79 Restaurant is an innovative seafood dining establishment that exemplifies the seamless integration of maritime aesthetics with modern interior design principles. Located in Shenzhen, China, this 2,800-square-meter restaurant space, completed in November 2020, demonstrates a sophisticated interpretation of nautical themes through its architectural elements and spatial organization. The design concept draws inspiration from ship cabins, incorporating N-shaped structural elements that have been abstractly deconstructed and reorganized to create a unique brand identity. The interior showcases a modern minimalist approach, characterized by warm yellow tones complemented by natural wood and rattan materials that evoke the authentic atmosphere of traditional fishing vessels. The space features thoughtfully designed elements such as bent lines, curved ceilings, and U-shaped partitions that create a dynamic visual rhythm throughout the interior. Notable design features include semi-private dining areas with hollowed arc partitions and rattan screens, water-corrugated glass partitions that create captivating light effects, and window-side booths designed to resemble travel boxes. The restaurant's lighting scheme employs subtle linear illumination that mimics distant fishing boat lights, while the use of terrazzo flooring in the lobby area adds a touch of historical resonance. The project, which earned a Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, demonstrates exceptional attention to sustainability through its incorporation of recyclable components and careful consideration of spatial flow and functionality.
