Shen Yang Cofco Sales Office

Shen Yang Cofco Sales Office

Shen Yang Cofco Sales Office is an innovative interior design project completed in 2020 that reimagines the conventional sales office typology through a biophilic and culturally-sensitive approach. Located in Shenyang, China, this 1,400-square-meter space transcends traditional commercial environments by creating an immersive urban forest experience that provides respite from city life. The design philosophy centers on opening up the typically enclosed sales office format through strategic use of skylights and floor-to-ceiling windows that integrate natural light, outdoor views, and local cultural elements. Distinguished by its Silver A' Design Award in Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, the project showcases an elegant synthesis of nature and architecture under the creative direction of designer Yongna Sheng. The space employs sophisticated material selections and lighting design to craft a serene atmosphere that resonates with visitors seeking escape from urban pressures. Notable design elements include artistic installations that reference Shenyang's cultural heritage, carefully curated furniture pieces, and a layout that facilitates both functional requirements and experiential qualities. Despite facing significant challenges during its execution, including logistics complications during the global pandemic, the project successfully delivers a progressive vision for commercial space design that prioritizes human wellbeing and emotional connection. The integration of natural elements, cultural narratives, and contemporary design principles creates a distinctive environment that serves both its commercial purpose and provides a contemplative sanctuary within the urban context.
