Shaw Studio Office

Shaw Studio Office

Shaw Studio Office is an award-winning interior design project that exemplifies innovative spatial design through its distinctive use of curved architectural elements and thoughtful lighting solutions. The office space is characterized by its striking wavy walls that serve both aesthetic and functional purposes, cleverly concealing irregular spatial configurations while creating a dynamic sense of movement throughout the environment. The design concept draws inspiration from the cinematic heritage of its context, incorporating flowing forms reminiscent of film rolls, which is particularly evident in the curved wall treatments and oval-shaped design elements. Despite the challenge of a relatively low ceiling height of 2600mm, the space achieves an illusion of greater vertical dimension through strategically placed light troughs that run along the curved walls. The interior features a sophisticated material palette, including UV-resistant laminated wood panels, laminated glass, and bronze-finished hairline stainless steel, ensuring both durability and aesthetic refinement. The layout encompasses several key areas, including a welcoming reception area, a library-cum-lounge space highlighted by an adjustable oval-shaped lighting fixture, and a conference room with curved glass walls. The design successfully creates a gallery-like atmosphere that promotes tranquility and facilitates the display of artwork in curved alcoves. This thoughtfully executed office design, which earned the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, demonstrates excellence in combining functional workplace requirements with artistic elements, creating an environment that enhances both employee well-being and professional productivity.
