Shanshuiheyue Ronghe Guangzhou Prototype House

Shanshuiheyue Ronghe Guangzhou Prototype House is an innovative architectural prototype that exemplifies the harmonious integration of traditional Chinese aesthetics with contemporary living spaces, situated in the scenic Chenjialin Road area of Zengcheng District, Guangzhou City. This 321-square-meter, five-story residential design, completed in July 2022, masterfully embodies the concept of oriental poetic life through its thoughtful incorporation of natural elements and traditional Chinese cultural motifs. Designed by Zhijun Zhong, the project stands as a testament to the evolution of modern Chinese residential architecture, featuring extensive use of natural materials such as travertine and wood finishes that celebrate the passage of time and natural transformation. The design's innovative spatial organization includes a multi-functional ground floor living area with a convertible sofa-dining arrangement, a contemplative tea ceremony space with a circulating water system that evokes Buddhist philosophy, and upper floors dedicated to family living with integrated terraces for outdoor activities. The prototype's location, surrounded by mountains and seasonal landscapes, informed its design philosophy of creating a sanctuary that promotes a slower, more mindful lifestyle away from urban bustle. The project, which earned a Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design, demonstrates exceptional achievement in combining functional innovation with cultural preservation, particularly in its sophisticated handling of limited floor space averaging 60 square meters per level. The design breaks from traditional rigid spatial arrangements while maintaining deep connections to Chinese artistic heritage, successfully creating a contemporary interpretation of residential architecture that emphasizes natural harmony, spiritual enrichment, and practical functionality.
