Shanghai Yuemao Mansion Model Room
Shanghai Yuemao Mansion Model Room is an exemplary interior design project completed in September 2020, representing a sophisticated approach to contemporary residential space optimization in Shanghai's Juyuan new district, Jiading District. This innovative model room, designed by Renata Yin, masterfully addresses the challenges of compact urban living within 80-90 square meters, demonstrating exceptional space utilization and aesthetic refinement. The design's conceptual foundation draws inspiration from the building's distinctive Resin Sun Plate material, incorporating linear elements throughout the space to create a cohesive visual narrative. The project's distinguished features include the innovative interpretation of metropolitan living standards through careful material selection, including plain wallpaper, sun board, metal inlay, gray tiles, and beige marble. A particularly noteworthy aspect of the design is its metaphorical treatment of the passageway, which ingeniously translates urban street aesthetics and traditional wooden elements into the interior environment. The design team, including Changying and Luqisheng, successfully optimized the floor plan by integrating circulation areas into functional spaces, effectively maximizing the usable area while maintaining spatial integrity. This exemplary work in interior space design was recognized with an Iron A' Design Award in 2021 in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, acknowledging its outstanding contribution to residential interior design innovation and its successful interpretation of contemporary urban living requirements.
