Shanghai Kingboard Center Office
Shanghai Kingboard Center Office is an innovative architectural landmark situated at the gateway of Hongqiao Airport transportation hub, distinguished by its unique dual-tower design connected by a groundbreaking sky exhibition hall. The architectural complex, completed in 2017, represents a significant achievement in contemporary commercial architecture, featuring two office towers linked by a remarkable rigid connection structure that boasts China's largest span and usable area of its kind. The connecting sky exhibition hall spans an impressive 72 meters, encompasses over 6,000 square meters of usable space, and weighs 1,600 tons, setting new benchmarks in structural engineering. The development, which earned the prestigious Golden A' Design Award in the Architecture, Building and Structure Design category, exemplifies sustainable design principles with its incorporation of advanced energy-efficient systems, achieving a 55.3% reduction in solar gain through passive design strategies. The complex, spread across 49,356 square meters of gross floor area, integrates sophisticated environmental considerations, including high-performance chillers with enhanced COP efficiency, occupancy sensors, and heat recovery systems. The project's commitment to sustainability extends to its material selection, with a minimum of 20% of construction materials featuring high recycled content. The design creates a vibrant public realm through its covered area beneath the sky exhibition hall, connecting to a water promenade that serves as a dynamic community space throughout different seasons, while its strategic location offers exceptional accessibility via public transportation within a five-minute walking distance, surrounded by a diverse urban fabric including residential, mixed-use, educational, and office buildings.
