Shanan Hotel

Shanan Hotel

Shanan Hotel is an architecturally distinctive hospitality establishment nestled in the bamboo forests of Baofu Town, Anji, exemplifying a harmonious integration of modern design with natural surroundings. Conceived by lead designer Eason Zhu and team, this Silver A' Design Award-winning project encompasses four independent buildings strategically positioned halfway up a mountain, offering unparalleled views of the surrounding bamboo sea and mountainous landscape. The architectural composition, completed in December 2022, spans approximately 1,448 square meters, featuring 17 meticulously designed guest rooms that seamlessly blend indoor and outdoor spaces through generous floor-to-ceiling windows. The design philosophy emphasizes the connection between human habitation and nature, utilizing materials such as art paint, wood flooring, aged timber, stone, and metalwork to create an atmosphere of refined rusticity. The hotel's distinctive aesthetic is characterized by rammed earth-colored walls and geometric lines that complement the natural environment, while private hot spring facilities and unobstructed viewing terraces enhance the guest experience. The project successfully overcomes the challenging mountainside location by incorporating innovative spatial solutions that maintain privacy while maximizing panoramic views, establishing itself as a sanctuary that promotes contemplation and wellness through its thoughtful design approach and integration with the surrounding landscape.
