Shadow Trail Residential

Shadow Trail Residential

Shadow Trail Residential is an award-winning interior design project that exemplifies contemporary living spaces through its sophisticated balance of materials, colors, and functionality. Located in Taipei, Taiwan, this 87-ping residential space, designed by Zhi-Jie Weng and Ying-ying Lin, showcases a masterful integration of exhibition-style aesthetics with practical living requirements. The design's distinctive approach features a carefully curated color palette dominated by grayscale tones, complemented by splash-ink slabs, orange accents, and wooden elements that create a harmonious and modern atmosphere. The space incorporates innovative metal-framing techniques and uniquely shaped lighting fixtures that enhance the artistic characteristics of the grey and white interior. Notable design elements include the strategic use of deep ink-play stone, white textured trim, and titanium bars, which contribute to creating a calm and sophisticated ambiance. The project, completed in December 2020, successfully addresses the challenge of balancing natural light from large French windows while maintaining spatial harmony. The interior configuration features four rooms with low-profile furnishings that create an expansive visual effect, while custom storage solutions demonstrate practical functionality. The design earned recognition with an Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, acknowledging its excellence in spatial design and innovative material application. The project's success lies in its ability to merge model house aesthetics with practical living requirements, featuring aluminum-framed grey glass bedroom cabinets and carefully considered storage solutions that maintain the design's cohesive visual language while serving the practical needs of its young couple residents.
