Serap Korkmaz is an award-winning designer from Turkey who has developed a unique approach to interior design and product design. She is a graduate of Istituto Europeo di Design in Milan and the Scuola Politecnica di Design in Milan. She has worked as an interior designer at Riccardo Giovanetti Studio and Studio Mutti Architetti in Milan, and she has founded her own design studio, SMDSTUDIO, based in Istanbul and Milan. Korkmaz is best known for her innovative and creative approach to design. Her experimental collection entitled SketcTR, which includes seating and lighting made with natural handmade materials, was showcased at the 2011 edition of the Milan Salone Satellite. Her Sofia Tea Set Collection was chosen for the 2016 Salone Del Mobile, and it was awarded a Golden A' Design Award in the 3D Printed Forms and Products Design Category.
