Sequence Showroom
Sequence Showroom is an innovative interior design project completed in 2020, representing a sophisticated fusion of traditional Chinese architectural elements with contemporary spatial design principles. Located in Chongqing, China, this 1,200-square-meter community development display and sales space exemplifies the harmonious integration of cultural heritage and modern functionality. The design concept revolves around the reinterpretation of traditional Chinese screens, utilizing them as both architectural elements and symbolic representations of cultural continuity. The space is meticulously organized across two levels, with the ground floor dedicated to lobby reception and the second floor housing exhibition areas and a water bar conversation space. A distinguishing feature of the design is its systematic arrangement of screens along corridor axes, creating a rhythmic sequence that guides visitors through the space while extending visual perspectives. The elevated conversation areas introduce subtle psychological boundaries between different functional zones, while flexible seating arrangements accommodate diverse usage scenarios. The project, which earned the Silver A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, demonstrates exceptional spatial innovation through its sophisticated integration of traditional elements, careful material selection, and thoughtful consideration of user experience. The design successfully achieves its objective of presenting community development while fostering social interaction, embodying the delicate balance between Chinese traditional introversion and contemporary spatial dynamics. The project's significance lies in its ability to refine and reimagine the cultural impression of Chongqing, presenting it through a modern lens that resonates with both local heritage and contemporary lifestyle aspirations.
