Sensory Architecture
Sensory Architecture is a design approach that uses light, sound, touch, smell, and temperature to shape how people feel and act in a space. In Experience Design, Sensory Architecture helps guide movement and mood by arranging materials and surfaces that change how people sense their surroundings. For example, textured walls can slow people down, while smooth floors can make walking feel faster. Designers can use scents to trigger memories or feelings, and lighting to highlight important areas or create calm zones. These choices help people remember spaces better and enjoy being in them.
