Sense Of Belonging Veterinarian Hospital
Sense of Belonging Veterinarian Hospital is an innovative interior design project that reimagines the conventional veterinary clinic environment through a sophisticated architectural approach inspired by Stone Age dwellings. Located in Taipei City, Taiwan, this 255-square-meter facility represents a paradigm shift in veterinary hospital design, departing from traditional clinical aesthetics to create a tranquil, reverent space that promotes healing and comfort. The design, conceived by Daniel Hu and YuJun Chung, masterfully addresses spatial challenges through the strategic use of caves and arcs, effectively creating visual depth that overcomes height limitations while establishing distinct functional zones. The interior employs a carefully curated selection of materials including special paint, nanoboard, metal work, kassod tree, and glass, all unified in a warm, earth-toned palette that evokes a primal sense of security and belonging. The space features separate waiting areas for cats and dogs, with long benches designed to facilitate social interaction among pet owners. Notable design elements include seamless earth wall connections between ceiling and walls, humble elevations, and coordinated flooring that collectively convey professional medical expertise while maintaining a calming atmosphere. The facility transcends its primary medical function by incorporating community-focused spaces for exhibitions and educational activities, effectively serving as a cultural hub that integrates art into the urban fabric. This innovative approach to veterinary hospital design earned recognition with a Silver A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, acknowledging its exceptional contribution to healthcare interior design and its success in creating a space that addresses both the practical and emotional needs of its users.
