Sense Antique Glasses Gallery Antique Glasses Museum is an innovative interior exhibition space designed to revolutionize the traditional museum experience through its unique architectural approach and atmospheric design elements. Created by designer Chih-Yuan Hung in 2018, this sophisticated gallery space employs strategic spatial geometry and lighting techniques to create an immersive environment for displaying antique eyewear. The museum's distinctive features include two oblique walls incorporating reflective and twisted elements inspired by optical glass properties, dividing the space into three distinct zones. The carefully orchestrated journey through the space begins with a trapezoid-shaped entrance that leads visitors through a narrowing passage, culminating in a main atrium with an ascending ceiling. At the heart of the exhibition space lies an oval-shaped transparent glass table, supported by ultra-thin iron rods, which serves as the primary display platform for the antique glasses collection. The museum's design philosophy emphasizes darkness and low-reflection materials to highlight the intricate details of the exhibits, creating an environment that isolates visitors from the outside world and allows for intimate examination of the historical pieces. The space, measuring 788 cm x 2235 cm with a height of 450 cm, features a custom light installation composed of 498 hand-made optical glass pieces. This Bronze A' Design Award-winning project in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category demonstrates exceptional innovation in museum design through its sophisticated integration of materials, lighting, and spatial planning, creating a space that is simultaneously artistic, secretive, luxurious, and pure.
