Sellamylome Resort Hotel
Sellamylome Resort Hotel is an innovative architectural project located in Okurcalar, Antalya, Turkey, that exemplifies a harmonious integration of contemporary design with ecological consciousness. The resort, designed by architect Adil Okur and team in 2018, spans a total land area of 14,000 square meters and features 430 rooms across its distinctive structure, which rises 13 floors on the sea side and 6 floors on the entrance side. The architectural design is characterized by its dynamic facade featuring reinforced concrete slabs with uniquely shaped terrace parapet walls on each floor, creating a wave-like aesthetic that serves both functional and aesthetic purposes. These undulating terraces act as natural solar control elements while providing unobstructed Mediterranean Sea views through glass railings. The design successfully addresses a significant 23-meter elevation difference between the entrance and sea levels, incorporating this natural challenge into its architectural solution. The resort's eco-friendly approach is evident in its use of local materials and thoughtful integration with its surroundings, positioning itself between the bay and forest. The complex includes numerous amenities such as swim-up suites, infinity pools, aquapark, amphitheater, and various dining venues, all designed to enhance guest experience while maintaining environmental consciousness. The project, which won an Iron A' Design Award in the Architecture, Building and Structure Design category in 2019, is particularly notable for its innovative skylight design in the main lobby, contributing to energy efficiency, and its carefully planned facade that optimizes seasonal sun exposure for natural temperature regulation.
