SeeAnn Retreats is an innovative interior design project that exemplifies the harmonious integration of minimalist aesthetics with nature-connected spatial design, completed during the Covid-19 pandemic period as a response to the growing need for therapeutic vacation spaces. The 600-square-meter retreat, designed by Chinese architect Heng Zhou, represents a sophisticated approach to commercial hospitality design that prioritizes human wellness and environmental connection. The design philosophy centers on creating an intimate ambience that balances human needs with natural elements, achieved through meticulous spatial planning and thoughtful material selection. The retreat features distinctive spaces including themed rooms such as the spring room, tea room, and family room, each carefully crafted with white cement walls, light wood grain, and rattan elements, complemented by custom-made minimalist furniture that optimizes both visual appeal and cost efficiency. The project's technical innovation lies in its precise control of structural elements, where the strategic positioning of walls, columns, floor slabs, and ceiling slabs creates an open, clean space that facilitates diverse human activities while maintaining economic efficiency. This architectural achievement, recognized with an Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category in 2021, demonstrates exceptional skill in overcoming structural challenges while maintaining aesthetic integrity.
