Seat Urchin Rocking Chair
Seat Urchin Rocking Chair is an innovative furniture design that revolutionizes the traditional concept of rocking chairs through its distinctive 68-leg configuration, inspired by the organic form of sea urchins. Created by designer Yue Zhuo, this remarkable piece combines functional innovation with aesthetic appeal, featuring a sophisticated matte black finish on its body contrasted with a vibrant yellow seat cushion. The chair's unique construction, crafted from laminated hardwood ply and precision-milled using CNC technology, enables users to rock freely in any direction while maintaining perfect stability. Each of the 68 maple dowel legs is meticulously attached at specific angles through hand-drilled holes, demonstrating exceptional attention to detail in its craftsmanship. The design incorporates removable hand-stitched seat cushions mounted with velcro, allowing for customizable comfort and style adaptability. Measuring 25 inches by 40 inches by 40 inches, this Bronze A' Design Award-winning creation represents a significant advancement in furniture design, combining ergonomic functionality with sculptural artistry. The chair's eco-friendly wood dye finish reflects a commitment to environmental responsibility, while its innovative approach to multidirectional rocking motion challenges conventional seating dynamics, making it both a functional piece of furniture and a compelling artistic statement in contemporary interior spaces.
