Sandy Beach Residential House
Sandy Beach Residential House is an exemplary residential architectural project located in Qingdao, China, that masterfully integrates contemporary design principles with seaside living aesthetics. This sophisticated three-level villa, encompassing 450 square meters, was meticulously designed by Yuan Yu to serve as a premium vacation residence for a family of four, earning recognition with a Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category. The design philosophy emphasizes spatial fluidity and openness, deliberately avoiding rigid functional demarcations to create a seamless living environment that resonates with its coastal setting. The architectural composition features distinctive elements such as a prominently positioned C-shaped staircase that serves both functional and aesthetic purposes, enhanced by white perforated steel plates that create dynamic light interactions throughout the space. The material palette combines wood flooring, slate, and latex paint, while the basement level introduces innovative terrazzo brick flooring with a distinctive black base punctuated by white snowflake-like particles. The interior design scheme draws inspiration from maritime elements, incorporating shell-inspired sofas, stone coffee tables, and nautical-themed wall hangings that collectively evoke the sensation of an island retreat. The implementation of large French windows establishes a profound connection with natural light, while the thoughtful placement of transparent acrylic furniture and greenery contributes to the creation of expansive, bright spaces that fulfill the project's primary objective of providing a sophisticated yet relaxed atmosphere for leisure living.
